Jewellery Care Guide

WARRANTY

Every piece made by Deborah Murdoch is designed to be worn and cherished everyday, but as with all fine jewellery, it should be treated with care. Deborah Murdoch has a one year warranty on all pieces of jewellery from the date of purchase, provided it has not been worked on by another jeweller or if the damage goes beyond accepted patterns of wear. Beyond the warranty period, we will quote for any necessary repairs on a case by case basis.

 

GENERAL CARE TIPS

• Storage:  Store your jewellery in a clean, dry place to prevent tarnishing and scratches. Use a jewellery box or pouch for each piece.

• Avoid Moisture: Remove jewellery before swimming, showering, or using skincare products, as moisture can damage metals and gemstones.

• Cleaning: Regularly clean your jewellery using a soft, lint-free cloth to remove oils and dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a mild soap and water solution. If you would like to receive a professional clean, please contact our studio as we offer a deep clean service for £90.

 

METAL JEWLLERY CARE

• Gold jewellery: Gently polish gold jewellery with a soft cloth to maintain its shine.

• Silver jewellery: Use a silver polishing cloth to remove tarnish. Store silver jewellery in an airtight container to slow down tarnishing.

 

GEMSTONE JEWELLERY CARE

• Diamonds and Gemstones: Clean gemstone jewellery with a soft brush and mild soapy water. Rinse and pat dry with a clean cloth.

• Pearls: Wipe pearls with a damp cloth to remove oils and perspiration. Avoid submerging them in water.

• All our jewellery comes with a warranty. Contact us for warranty information and assistance. (Warranty does not include fading of gold vermeil plating, if this happens there may be a charge to replace).
