The Caribbean in Switzerland
Recently, I had the pleasure of creating a stunning 18ct yellow gold Paraiba ring for a client based in Switzerland that wanted a gift for himself. For those who may not be familiar, Paraiba is a rare and highly sought-after gemstone known for its vivid and intense blue-green color. It is found primarily in Brazil, but can also be found in Nigeria and Mozambique. The client, originally from Caracas, Venezuela, had always lived close to the Caribbean and was drawn to the stone because of its resemblance to the crystal-clear waters of the region.
Using 18ct yellow gold as the base material for the ring, I wanted to create a design that would truly showcase the beauty of the Paraiba stone. The final result was a breathtaking 1.15ct Paraiba ring that perfectly captured the essence of the Caribbean sea. The yellow gold band was elegantly simple, providing a beautiful contrast to the striking blue-green hue of the Paraiba stone.
When the client received the ring, he was absolutely thrilled. As he put it, "There's no way to capture the incredible beauty of this piece unless you see it in person. I am absolutely in love!!" Creating this ring was truly a joy and I am thrilled that it brought such happiness!
In the end, I am reminded once again of the incredible power of jewelry to bring joy and beauty into people's lives. The combination of a rare gemstone and a beautiful design can create something truly remarkable.
